Mapped Streetlight Globe Explorer

A globe of every country, with the ones where mapped OpenStreetMap streetlight counts have been extracted highlighted — useful night-visibility context, not a claim that every real streetlight is recorded.

Every country is drawn. Highlighted countries have extracted mapped counts; grey countries are present for orientation and do not yet have a static count extract. This is mapped coverage, not a physical lamp census.

Open the multi-region map for actual OSM street-lamp nodes and subtype filters where extracts exist.

Point-level extracts are separate

Highlighted countries show extracted mapped counts. The street-level map opens only real point extracts we have built, with a searchable selector for every available country, US state or region.

Data boundary: the globe uses OpenStreetMap-derived count extracts under ODbL where available. Highlighted countries indicate mapped coverage in this site layer, not a guaranteed physical lamp inventory.
